Nicholas Investment Partners adds to Investment Team
On behalf of Nicholas Investment Partners, we are pleased to announce the addition of Lisa Wheatley as a Senior Research Analyst and the 7th member of our investment team. Lisa will be contributing her 13 years of financial analysis experience and contacts to the investment team’s fundamental research and due diligence process.
Prior to joining our firm, Lisa spent five years as Co-Head of M&A at Life Technologies Corporation, a NASDAQ-listed life science company with $14 billion in market capitalization. In this role, she was responsible for analysis and recommendations of potential mergers, acquisitions, divestures, equity investments and other strategic partnerships for the management team thereby gaining valuable insight in the healthcare sector, especially genetic sequencing, drug discovery and development, and medical devices.
Her previous investment experience includes being an Investment Analyst and Deal Originator at Silver Point Capital, where she provided investment research and due diligence for a $10 billion creditoriented hedge fund, and an Associate at Tennenbaum Capital Partners focused on research for special situation investments in healthcare, technology, telecom, retail and general manufacturing. Lisa also spent two years as an Associate with Oaktree Capital Management’s high yield research team where she conducted traditional credit analysis on corporate debt securities of media, technology, telecom, defense, aerospace and consumer products companies.
Lisa started her career as an Analyst in J.P. Morgan’s Leveraged & Syndicated Finance Group with responsibility for financial analysis of acquisitions, LBO’s, recapitalizations, spin-offs and restructurings of companies in financial services, consumer products, and metals and mining. Lisa is a member of the Alumni Board of Directors for the University Of Richmond where she earned a BA in economics and a BS in Business Administration with a finance concentration.
